Feedback, reviews and raises
When work comes back wrong, fix the method, not the person: "Next time, do step three before step two" rather than "You got this wrong". When it comes back right, say exactly what was right, so it happens again. A ten-minute Friday review keeps small things small.
Every six months, sit down and talk it through: what went well, what was hard, what they want to learn, and whether the pay still fits the work. Raise the pay when the role grows. And leave a review on their StaffCastle profile — it helps them, and it helps the next employer.
Do this today: write down one specific thing they did well this week and send it.
